A worked example
Take a fasting glucose of 5.6 with a reference range of 3.9 to 5.5. The report flags it "H" for high. In plain words: this reading is just above the top of the printed range, by 0.1. That does not tell you what it means for your health. It tells you it is one number worth asking your doctor about. That is exactly what Ouvela does: it saves the report and puts a plain-language reading beside the original, so you walk into the visit knowing what to ask.
What a reference range is
The range is the band of values the lab considers usual for most people. A result inside the range is "within range." Outside it is flagged high or low. A flag is not a diagnosis: labs, ages, and situations differ, and only your doctor can say what a result means for you.
Reading it without guessing
Match each test to its range. Note which readings sit outside the printed range and by how much. Write those down as questions. You do not need to interpret them; you need to be able to ask about them clearly.
